Undergraduate Teaching The college admits students who hold General Secondary School Certificate, the average for each of English, Chemistry, Biology & physics subjects should not be less than 70%. They also have to satisfy the admission requirements set by the University. To obtain the degree of M. B. Ch, B. a student must study the following subjects over six years, after which successful candidates will be awarded the degree of M. B. Ch, B. (Medicine Bachelor & Surgery Bachelor).
Postgraduate Teaching The College also provides post-graduate studies in different branches of clinical and basic medical sciences, assisted by advisers and supervisors from other universities in Kurdistan and worldwide. Currently there are some 14 Postgraduate students conducting various clinical and medical research and studies relating to the local concerns, such as the problem of toxoplasmosis, malaria, tuberculosis and other general topics.
Campus The College campus is located close to Dohuk city center and next to Azadi General Hospital, and comprises of Administration building which houses the dean, staff and administration offices and the computer center. All clinical teaching and training take place at Azadi General Hospital, Hevi pediatric hospital and A&E hospital. Work has commenced on a new medical school building, purposely-built lectures building contains 4 large lecture rooms, staff and student canteen and landscaping of sites. The buildings are expected to be completed in spring 2002 and would provide excellent facilities for medical students and staff. Student accommodations are located few miles away from the College, and are provided free for students who comes from outside the city. Education in Kurdistan is free including for undergraduate and postgraduate students attending universities
